INGREDIENTS
- 1 sugar cube
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
(the one with the ill-fitting label)
- club soda
- 2 oz rye whisky
(Mat recommends 40 Creek)
- GARNISH: orange peel
RECIPE
- Place the sugar cube in the bottom of an old fashioned glass
- Saturate the cube with 2 or 3 dashes of Angostura bitters and add a small splash of club soda
- Crush the sugar with a muddler and mix to create a paste that lines the bottom of the glass
- Add a large ice cube
- Add rye and stir
- Garnish with orange peel
